Last night I started on a crochet gift for my Mum for Christmas, I'm mega new to crochet and I'm following beginner patterns that i've found on the internet and in books I have.
Anyways I started this gift thinking it would take months!!! and it looks like if I carry on like I did last night it may be finished today! so as soon as it is I'll show it to you.
Cannot believe how simple it is, its a ribbon thread shawl I'm making
I've also nearly finished my fingerless gloves which will be great for craft fairs when its a bit chilly Smile
***will upload with photos very soon***

Good for you Deanne.... I taught myself to crotchet and tatt some years ago although I haven't done any in years. Loved to crotchet but I found that apart from making hats, I didn't use it for anything else. With tatting, I love that and often make a cross for a christening or confirmation. I did try to make a lace edge for a handkerchief but couldn't work out how to turn the corner, so it just go left LOL

Looking forward to seeing your creations. Very Happy

I am trying crochet but cannot get the hang of holding the yarn as you should it feels awkward and uncomfortable. I have tried before but cannot seem to get the hang of it.

I am trying to get back round to doing some crochet, maybe I will this year. I used to crochet everything, jumpers for the boys and myself, lace doilies, collars, trouser suit, shawls, toys, slippers...........
