Thanks Caro.
It didn't go entirely according to plan thanks to the restaurant being understaffed and very busy. You were fine if you were going for the carvery but we were there for 2 hours, and the food wasn't that good when it arrived. The waiter was moody and miserable and clearly stressed.
We set off for Portland after that, now in Weymouth it was pleasantly warm and lots of people were in little vest tops or sleeveless or wearing shorts, or both. Didn't think it was quite warm enough for that. We stopped in Asda to get icecream as we couldn't stand waiting for that in the restaurant, but I had an upset tummy so lucky I was in there as they had loos. We went to Portland, by the quarry and walked the dogs but it was like Siberia there, needed fleeces and coats and gloves. Was accosted in a friendly manner by a very large dog, who didn't see our two as I was lagging behind as usual, and it wanted me to stay or go with it, was going to grab me with its teeth, and was tall enough to put its nose where it wanted without raising its head.
So needed to dash to the loo again which we visited the lighthouse to do, but then we headed home as it was already 4pm and getting dark. Had we gone for the fish and chips at Bowleaze if they were open we would have had at least an hour extra for dog walking, though hubby was being sensitive to my needs and I can only eat the jacket potatoes loaded with cheese from the fish and chip place.
In the restaurant I ordered pan seared salmon fillet which came on crushed new potatoes with creme fraise and rocket, and pesto, the salmon when it finally arrived didn't look like it had seen a pan, more likely the microwave, it was watery and limp and quite unpleasant.
Still having tummy troubles today so it doesn't look like we will be going anywhere today. Hubby did mention going to Debenhams as I need a wedding outfit for next week, but that involves a 3/4 hour drive then the park and ride bus and I don't think I can today.
