I love my little Puma, but it is getting old and has developed a rust patch, and the man who set up my work chair said VW Golfs are the best for your back. As I suffer a lot with my back I thought I would look for one.
Have driven 5 of them since Saturday and visited what feels like hundreds of garages, nearly bought one Sunday, in fact he offered what we wanted for the Puma on Monday but by then we had heard about this one, and tried another first.

I know now a lot more about Golfs than I did, which was not a lot! The Sunday car was very nice, had a lot of gadgets, was a GT and 2 litre, and the salesman told us it was nearly as good mpg as the 1.6 litre, he said 40 and 44 mpg. Found out since it is 33 and 44 so a bit different, the tax is more and of course insurance.

I am picking up the car on Saturday, it is red and at 4, nearly 5 years old it has done less than 16,000 miles and is immaculate. I liked it when I drove it, and love the condition it is in. So when the Sunday guy rings again I will have to tell him that yes we did say if he gave us the money for ours we would buy it but then he did lead us to believe the mpg and the tax were lower than they actually would be.

Got less gadgets on the one I am having, I think it is crazy that fog lights were optional (and then only front fog lights would be fitted) so it doesn't have them.

So hopefully this is the right car for me and I won't start to dislike it for lack of things that I took for granted on the Puma.

Ooh I'm very jealous! I bought a Focus after going up home (Yorkshire) in my brothers and being able to get out of it at the end of the 3 hour journey without having to click my back into place at the end!

However the Golf would be my ideal car - I had one before but it was the tank version - very heavy and no power steering (boy did I have toned arms with that car though!!).

Enjoy the new toy! Getting a new car Icon_biggrin

Wow, that sounds great. Enjoy the new car Cazzy. We recently bought a Ford Focus Estate when our big old peugeot blew up on the motorway. I love the new car although I do miss some of the gadgets, however my DH seems to stall it at least once a week...I really don't know how!
