I would like to add a little PS to my review as I have had a slight problem with mine since I bought one of the new MS design cards. These cards upgrade the slice and make it cut faster as well as give you some extras like shadowing and flipping the design.(this dosen't work on the old cards though).
I have found that when cutting out a circle design or flower that the cut dosen't always meet up. Now I find this extremely annoying. I did contact MM about it and have to say that their customer service leaves alot to be desired.
They did admit that there are still problems with the machine that still need to be sorted Making Memories Slice review Icon_eek surely these should have been sorted by now!! and they didn't really sort my problem for me except to tell me all the things I had already told them I had done to try and sort out the problem myself.
But having said all that I still love my litttle machine and hope they get things sorted soon. Making Memories Slice review Icon_rolleyes

Great review and it certainly sounds interesting...what thickness of card can it cut? I would love something like it for my scrapbooking.

Caro it cuts Bazzil fine. Doesn't like anything else much thicker though.

Bazzill is usually the thickest card I use for scrapbooking so should be OK. I will have to start saving for it!

Yes I do cut Bazzil with mine, but I am having a few issues with my slice at the moment and I am in contact with MM about it. It just doesn't seem to be cutting out very good as the cuts aren't meeting up at the start finish point if that makes sense. I have just taken some photos of what I mean and I am going to email them to MM and see what they say!!

Just to add a little more about cardstock and the slice......MM now tell me that the slice is NOT design to cut Bazzill and this is why I have been having problems with mine. Frankly I am astonished and would not have bought it if I had known it wouldn't or shouldn't cut Bazzill. I guess this is their get out and I am to ay the least bloody annoyed.
I have told them that they should make this clear and ask their demostrators and agents to point this out to purchasers but I doubt they will as I think they will lose a lot of sales.
i have to say I have cut Bazzill successfully some of the time but it is more likely to be a bad cut on cardstock than paper.
Deanne is this possible to add to my review tha MM state it is not designed to be used with Bazzill cardstock??
Cazzy have you tried out your slice yet?? If so how are you finding it?

hi julia
how annoying!!!! that should certainly be told at point of sale! unbelievable
those zutter round it alls it clearly states it is NOT for cutting paper! as it tears it, and that it is for heavy based chipboard and cardstock, and they havent lost any sales from it!!!!
joke!!
i will try to add it to it for you julia x

That is a very interesting review I had been thinking about getting one at Christmas time but was put off my some reviews I read however, I had not discounted it completely but now I can't see the point in getting one if it doesn't cut thin card. May have to rethink or leave it for the time being.

I have a lot of discussions over the card thing Carol Ann. Artbase tell me that they demo using Bazzill and have no problems but do say that Bazzill does vary in thickness. I am still waiting to see what MM come back to be regarding this as their website Whyslice states that it will cut textured card up to .5mm. So it would seem that even MM don't seem to agree about what the Slice cuts and what it doesn't.
It seems like it trial and error with this machine. When it does cut well it's fantastic I just wish it would do it all the time!!!!

How frustrating for you and annoying that they cannot be consistent in what they say. Thanks for finding out for us Julia, I think I will wait a little longer and see what happens with this before making a decision about buying, but I do agree that there are a few different Bazzil cards and some are thicker than others, but not by much!
