Dear Kraft,

While I am really pleased that Cadbury's is rescued, and I have grown up with Cadburys in fact they used to go round schools doing educational talks about how chocolate was made and they seriously believed the chocolate was a health product (as do I).

I am currently hooked on Green and Blacks Organic chocolate, milk is my favourite but not that new creamy version that came out after the takeover by Cadburys, there isn't enough chocolate in that. I will eat the 85% too, and the other flavours.

If absolutely desperate and having a bad day I will buy a Twirl from the machine at work, sometimes it gives up the chocolate, sometimes it even gives you your change, other times neither, it also really hates pound coins and refuses to give you anything including your pound until after much pressing of buttons and muttering at it you eventually get your money back in 5pence coins and as much small change as it can possibly do, then if you re-insert the correct change it will reluctantly give up the goodies. I always favour Cadburys over the competition.

So you see what I really want to say is keep Cadburys chocolate as it is, do not change the ingredients especially the G&B, I am your biggest customer and must eat my body weight in chocolate every year at least, and that is a lot. If you change it I will get thinner as I will not buy the chocolate and that won't be good!

Thank you for reading this, please send big box of G&B. Message to Kraft Icon_lol

When I first heard they had agreed the take over I was so angry I nearly threatened never to buy Cadbury's chocolate again - then it dawned on me what that would mean in reality........ Nope - not possible.

When I heard, I was so concerned that they would change the recipe / discontinue it altogether that I sent my husband to the supermarket to buy the largest bar of Dairy Milk he could find. Of course if I'd have thought about it, it was never going to last me very long - I've just spent all week munching my way through it - making it last was never really going to be an option!! What I'll do if they actually discontinue it, I don't know, nothing else quite hits the mark. Message to Kraft Icon_cry

Well said Carol Razz

Think I will be in shock for months if they change the recipe - I mean what would life be like without Cadburys chocolate - it would be emtpy (and so would my tummy, lol)

Perhaps Carol you could start a petition to keep the recipe the same?????

Did any of you see the prog last night about chocolate and the fat they use in it? The vegetable fat is Palm oil and is grown in the Rainforest. In fact they pull up trees etc to plant the stuff then harvest it for Mars company etc to be used in chocolate. The only problem is they are destroying the OrangUtan's habitat and they will become extinct in about 10 years if they carry on as they are doing.
They can use sustainable Palm oil adding 1/2p to each bar of chocolate. Mars is going to have a Rainforest logo on the chocolate bars in 2010 but this for the Cocoa they use only, not the Palm oil. People will think they are helping to save the rainforest when in fact they are not. They have said they will use sustainable palm oil by 2015 lets hope the Orang Utan's can hold on so they can get their act together.
I was surprised Cadbury was taken over by Kraft as it is another ploy of theirs to off load debts, they have done it before. They make promises to keep staff on then go back on it and make subtle changes along the way. We will end up with nothing British.
Thorntons has committed to using only certified sources of palm oil by 2012.
Hotel Chocolat uses Cocoa butter.
I love chocolate
