I bought one of these at Coleman's last weekend and have spent all week trying to find a lamp in this house that it will fit and that I can use in my craft room. In desperation I put it in the overhead light - bear in mind that it is a mock cast iron, black, gothic style, 3 bulb affair (from the days when this was our dining room). Ok so if you look at the light fitting it now looks a bit odd BUT what a difference, I can actually see colours and more importantly shades for what they really are. Daylight Bulb Icon_idea

Fantastic...who cares what it looks like provided you have the best light for crafting! I need one of the these...just don't know where I am going to find one.

I have a free standing lamp I bought at a craft show but I don't use it, and an anglepoise one I used with the knitting machine both have daylight bulbs but I do use one I bought in Lidls which isn't a daylight lamp but is designed to be like one with an energy saving bulb and clever design, wasn't expensive either and that is the one I use all the time. It came with a stand and a clamp so you can use it either clamped to a shelf or bench or standing, I have it clamped to my shelf.
Now I should try the "proper" one again to compare, but I have found it better as I can move it to where I need it.
