I just got my very expensive new varifocals, I am sitting here trying to get the right place to see, but I can only see what is right in front of me, one spot, I can't see the edges of the line of text on this sentence when I am in the middle, right here, oh boy if I don't get used to them they are going back and I will stick to two pairs. Does it mean I won't see the whole photo any more?

I wasn't too happy about having them but the optician said it would help with eyestrain that might be giving me headaches, and would be worse before the next yearly appointment, but at least they are on 30 day money back guarantee.

Apparently it takes some people a week to get used to them, and I am not to reach for my old glasses! So about this refund....... are you there, can't see a thing,.... cyclops What a Face bounce pale Rolling Eyes

How am I going to see all those spilt gems to pick up? I might take these off, will be better with none. At least I don't have to wear them all the time, close work, PC work, and now TV he said. (Mind you the TV I watch the most is next to my PC so I usually have my PC glasses on for that).

Took me a while to get used to varifocals Cazzy, you have to get into the habit of moving your head not just your eyes! Don't give up too soon, make the most of the money-back window to try them out for a while then give them back if you really can't get on with them.

I will but I have put my old ones on for the PC, I can get on with them just about doing anything else but the PC is so out of focus, I wonder if it is the closeness of my monitor at home, will see tomorrow if work any better with them as that one is further away. I can see my TV next to the PC monitor fine with them but not the words on the screen on the monitor.

The varifocals have gone back, I suffered them for a week, could see less by the end than the beginning. Aparently they don't suit everyone, only 90% of people, and I clearly aren't prepared to move my head! Flipping cheek, I was moving my head, up and down, closer to the PC screen, further away... The PC screen was the biggest problem but I was always aware of fuzzyness at the edges that bothered me, I have had headaches and felt down about it.

Well no more, I have taken them back, and now I need a small suitcase on wheels to carry the three pairs I am having instead! affraid

I broke my glasses last week so I'm having to wear my contacts until my new ones are ready. I'm hoping they will be ready tomorrow so that I can go pick them up as wearing my contacts all day every day since Tuesday is making my eyes sore. It's never simple is it Carol?!

No and they have us over a barrel as you have to have them, and they sound cheap at first until you add things on and then they are not! I am hoping to get some of it refunded from work, will cover less than half one of the pairs if I can get it!

I've had varifocals for a few years. The first pair I got was from Boots Opticians and from the word 'go' I had no problem with them. I thought I may qualify for some sort of funding from work as I needed them for the PC, but no!!! For my second pair I went to Visson Express and never again!!!! I won't go into the long saga but it didn't bode well when the girl told me to walk around the shopping Mall with them on to see how I got on.......... I tried to explain that it wasn't my intention to wear them all the time, just PC and close work. She insisted and I did try but I had problems and ffelt giddy wearing them. She insisted that it was just a case of getting used to them ........ weeks down the line and several trips back to the shop, different people dealing with me, they finally admitted that the wrong prescription was in and replaced the lenses. I chose not to go back there again and went back to Boots this last time. These aren't as good as the first pair but I'm getting used to them now........... got my second pair as just reading glasses which is a bonus.
Thank goodness I don't have to wear them all the time!!! Very Happy

I haven't had the call yet so I'm guessing they aren't ready yet. They will probably come tomorrow when I'm doing my last cooking session with the Year 1 kids in Ellie's class. Sob Sob!

I hope you get them soon Fe. My hubby got his from Tesco and couldn't see a thing, then got them from Specsavers and they are fine. Someone I was talking to last week said she had hers from Specsavers and they were changed 3 times and in the end she went to Boots.

The Specsavers woman kept on about wearing them for driving, I hadn't been told to wear them for driving. She said the prescription was fine so it was me!
