Pond equipment all failing at once

We have a biggish pond, 9 ft square (I know a bit bigger and we could have had a swimming pool), first the UV light unit went, himself rang the place, they said when did you buy it (I don't know he said thinking about 8 years ago and no idea where the receipt is - though I don't think it was that long and they have a 5 year warranty) bring it back she said and he did, they changed it.
Then he realises the pump is on the way out, and maybe that caused the uv unit to fail? So he said order another, I found them and there is a new improved version, can have two flows in, don't bother with that says he, get the bog standard one. That is a direct challenge so I ordered what I thought was the new one, and an attachment but then I got a phone message and then a later call.

The guy was so helpful, and talked to me for ages. The one I ordered was the new version of the old pump and therefore eco friendly but it doesn't have the two inlets, which he said is only on the case so he could find out from the company if he could get a different case and change the case. I said the problem is we need it soon, but I have seen the next pump up with the attachment free and hose and clips and free delivery for just £5 more than I was paying for the wrong one, he said I would be better going for that deal, what a nice man. Said he could ask about the case etc, but he couldn't get good package deals like that. I felt like saying I will just have yours anyway but I wanted to get the forbidden gadget one just to try it out!

I am so wicked! But before we give you that.......I am going upstairs to check for the receipt - just in case! (distracted by dinner so maybe later, or maybe it is in the drawer downstairs, or the garage loft with the boxes, or in the filing system - nah I looked there!

I told him and he said send it back, cancel it! He said he isn't bothering with the extra bit, I will have to clean that apparently - shall I push him in?

Now the old pump is suddenly working better, typical.

In this heat Cazzy it wouldn't be a punishment to push him in. LOL! He'd feel better for it!

I will feel better for it too! I had to explain the new pump is the same as the other model, just has a different case so you can suck in from two areas of the pond at once and it is supposed to be energy efficient and save 40% of energy.
