For the month of September I'd like to bring you our very own Debbie who moderates the Altered Art forum thread, and designs her own stamps and sells them here http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself.......
My name is Debbie Moore and have been married for 25 years with one grown up son, 1 molly-cuddled cat and 2 fat goldfish. My family and friends are very important to me and I am a very family orientated person.
I love to draw and do lots of different crafting. I love cardmaking, altered art and scrapbooking. I used to love using my sewing machine - but not so much nowadays. I love recycling things and am forever looking at packaging- thinking - 'yes I could use that' lol
2) What first started you crafting and how has your 'style' changed...
I have always crafted from a very young age - I am from quite a creative family. But my love for cardmaking has grown so much over the years. You cannot receive a better thing than a handmade card or gift that someone has taken the time to make for you. My 'style' was mainly 'quirky' but I adore vintage themes - must be my age..lol
3) Where do you get the inspiration from for your stamps.......
all around me..I love to look at everything when I am out and about..I will see something that sparks my imagination. It could be a dress with a pattern on, a flower, a shop window, shapes (I love distinctive shapes)anything. There are so many colours, shapes and textures around us and that definately gets my creative juices flowing.
4) Who do you most admire...
Hmmm difficult question - my husband - he is such a happy pro-active person. I really do admire anyone who goes out into the world and achieve what they want, but are still able to have time for their family
5) Where do you see yourself in a years time with your business....
oooh most definitely still drawing and producing stamps. Would love to see it grow more, so I am working on that aspect
6) Any advice for wannabe stamp designers .....
Research what type of stamps you want to produce..silicone or rubber. What manufacturer you would use. Pricing, marketing and packaging of course. Advertising and outlets for your stamps. But have fun doing it all otherwise it will be a lot of hard work.
Dont forget you can visit Debbie here at her personal blog http://www.bubble-deb.blogspot.com/ and you can purchase her stamps and join in challenges here http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/
Thank you Debbie for taking the time to do this for Quirky Crafts forum.
Make sure you pop on over and see Debbie and say hi too
