Origami anyone

Origami is supposed to be a big part of the craft world this year
Does anyone here like to do a bit of paper folding I've had a go at a few things and do enjoy it. Attempting a few more so will show photos once done x

im not very good at it, but i think they look great. Did some origami christmas trees on a few christmas cards last year x

I can make a bird that flaps its wings but that's about my lot.

I haven't tried it in years - used to love it. Perhaps I'll give it a go

I love origami...I used to do a lot as a child and rediscovered it a few years ago when desperate for something crafty to do with no space or equipment. I made an elephant last year which was a real fiddle.

oooh oooh caro that would be wonderful to see i adore elephants

This is the fat book page I made using the origami elephant. He did stand up quite jauntily on my desk for a while, but I decided to send him to a friend who is mad about elephants so turned him into this page for her. The most fiddly parts were getting the top of the elephant to sink in the middle so that he was the same from both sides and then the little folds round the trunk. You can see where they have gone a bit sideways!

aw thats gorgeous, i have three origami books and not one elephant tutorial lol that is a beauty hehehe i've only managed spinning tops and pockets so far

Here's my attempts so far, I did a mini write up for 'Its a creative world'
I really enjoyed doing the spinning top and it now sits on my craft desk for when I'm thinking about what to do I just spin it lol (told you I was a numpty Julia )

I love this pocket too, I'm going to make a smaller one and use it on a scrapbook layout, I'll show once I've done it

Those are both gorgeous. I love the spinning top...so pretty and colourful. I can imagine that the pocket would be great on a scrapbook page. I will try and scan the elephant instructions this weekend Deanne...I don't think I will get the time before then. Can you pm me your e-mail address.

I love the spinning to too Deanne, well done! Great elephant too Caro, good for kids cards - I struggle for ideas for kids cards, not being a mum myself.
I downloaded a man's shirt origami off a website a couple of years ago, and find it quite good for men's cards. I'll see if I can attach a picture......
