Challenge 6

Hello Quirky Crafters!

It's time for challenge 6!

This week the theme is Red and Green. I chose this colour combination as I desperately need to make some more Christmas cards but you don't have to stick to the Christmas theme as you will see from some of the DT examples.

This fabulous embossed Christmas Tree card is by our very talented Cazzy.


Gez (our wonderful new DT member) has created this adorable "Just for you" card.


This gorgeous "Birthday Love" card is by the lovely Deanne.


Fe has made this elegant, old fashioned Father Christmas card.

Now that card was jinxed, I used silicon glue to fix the gems because I couldn't be bothered to unblock the Diamond Glaze, the glue got where it shouldn't took hours to dry, the gems kept moving, the glue got on the card blank, thank goodness for ribbon, I knocked the gem wheel onto the floor and of course it wasn't closed so there are gems everywhere and after the photo I noticed the bow had fallen off!

Apart from that it went very well! My second example (still not finished) suffered from embossing powder creep or ink slippage, rock a blocks not good on glossy cardstock I found. I still haven't found an acceptable cover up.

I love the other examples girls, glad it wasn't only me that thought Christmas. I see Deanne's lovely trademark flower too.

I also made this one but then I wasn't sure if it was green and red enough as it has lots of white and yellow on it too so I disqualified myself from adding it to the DT ones. I thought I'd add it here though just in case everyone else isn't quite so critical!! LOL!

Fe got it spot on!

I printed another image, coloured it & stuck it on!

Its worked really well. I will definately be adding hair as extra again.
Adds that 3D look & hopefully a little less blusher! Far too much for someone that age! Think I got
carried away oops.

Now I really do need to find a good tutorial for colouring in darker hair. :-D

It is lovely Fe, my third card was going to be subtly red and green if it works out! I am abandoning card number 2 and going straight to 3.

Ohh Christmas cards in summer what a great idea helps keep you cool as well LOL I will see what I can come up with and hopefully scan the results fingers crossed the scanner works in the llibrary

Thank you though due to bad bow placement - seemed like a good idea at the time - you can't see the whole thing but I have made another version where you can, different colour combo though.

Beautiful card Paula, but you do know the theme for this challenge is red and green?

That's lovely Paula. It does have red and green on it I can see, though not blue is the main colour in the background. If it had a different background it would fit the challenge better, it depends if Fe thinks so as she set it.

OOPS I forgot that bit never mind I will try harder next time must write it down so I don't forget not having a computer at home means I make notes of things and I forgot this time bad girl LOL
