Ideas needed please, butterfly book with pockets. Butterfly+tree+lighterI want to make a book to store the butterflies from the wishing tree in. I thought it might be a nice surprise (that is if they don't already have a box in mind). I was thinking A4 size, maybe smaller but it needs pockets to tuck the butterflies in and the only one I have seen is done with 12" x 12" Bazzill, where you fold it in I think quarters, fold up the bottom half and then fold that back into an arrow shape then fold in half so a half the arrow point is on each side, the long side being punched. Question

Not sure this is suitable but how else can I do this? I did think of a continuously hinged book, so that I fold up a piece right the way across and each page has a hinge each side, not sure how many pages I need yet! scratch
I am attempting to dry the wedding roses, well some of them, thought I could add those to the book, and maybe some photos and I have the chocolate wrappers and a couple of the feather butterflies from the napkins.

Any ideas? (I have A3 card I can use for the folded pages to make pockets). Rolling Eyes

Hi Carol, don't know if you've found a solution to this or not........... but one suggestion is using clear plastic folders.... take an A4 sheet of card and stick 'pockets' the size to hold the butterflyes to it and then put the card in the plastic folder, you can then make a book out of it.
Does that make sense?

Thanks Dee. I have come up with a design now, it has 6 pockets in card that can have 10 butterflies tucked into each. I am not sure if that was what they had in mind, but I am half finished, going to have pages in between, the covers are part finished too.

I hope it will be liked, if they don't want it for the butterflies they can use it for cards instead.

The big wires and the extra card turned up today, not the closure thing though. I may be too far on to add the closure, could just tie it with ribbon. Have stamped the pages, need to print photos now and decide how many more pages I could add or should add.

Thank you Debbie, I hope to make a box as well so it keeps fairly dust free.

Yip Cazzy that is a great idea - not only keep the dust off it but also the light away from it too - it will for ever that way. Smile Smile
