Going AWOL

Mum and I are off to sunny Scotland tomorrow with the kids so neither of us will be around for the next week/10 days. Have fun without us because I'm sure we will be having lots (or at least trying to)

And we're back!

We've had a great time thanks. A little damp at times but we had lots of fun. I'm really tired now though. We left the cottage at 9.30 this morning and arrived back in Cheshire at about 5pm. I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight but I'm going to miss waking up to sheep and mountains tomorrow when I open the curtains to look out to do a weather check. (we don't have a sheep one!) Lol!

We went to the Isle of Arran and stayed in a little cottage in Shiskine. It's a beautiful place Cazzy. We used to go every year when I was little and I really wanted to go back with my kids. Josh said it wasn't what he expected but he really loved it, especially the winding, bumpy Arran roads. Lots of humps to go over where you leave your tummy behind. It was like being on a Rollercoaster ride.

Ellie loved all the wild life. She fed a wild deer some grass. Held a crab and a tiny frog on her hand. She fed some ducks some special duck food and stroked a pony called Peanut. She was supposed to be going riding on it but, even though it was the smallest pony they had, it was still too high up for her and she wouldn't go on it.

It's a lot different to the type of holidays we normally take them on which is usually involves sunshine and white sandy beaches but they both really enjoyed it and say they'd like to go back so I'm happy with that.

That is the sort of place I would love to go and live and become an eccentric recluse. Sounds like the kids learnt lots while they were there.
