Not sure if this is the right section for this question but I've seen a lot of digital stamps around lately on some of the challenge blogs that I visit and I would like to hear what other people think about them?

Although some of the images you can download are lovely, I much prefer 'real' stamps. I don't mind if they're rubber, mounted or unmounted, or the clingy clear stamps, but I like the feeling of choosing my image, getting it inky and stamping it out myself. I just don't get such a sense of satisfaction from printing something on my PC - am I just very old-fashioned and out-of-date? (Well, yes, I am, but I'm just meaning stamp-wise at the moment - lol!)

Anyone care to share their thoughts on this?

Nicki, xx.

Hi Nikki - digi stamps are great in the fact you can resize them. Smile

I much prefer the stamping method myself - I love to paper peice and colour them in and of course there is embossing too. Smile And triple embossing - just love that too. Smile

I think I prefer real stamps as digi stamps always feel like cheating but I have recently bought some digi stamps and I will get round to using them, maybe I will get to love them and lets face it they don't take up loads of room and you should be able to find them easily! cyclops

Stamps for me rubber or acrylic I lke to handle things and get the feel of what I am making if that makes sense. You can also swap stamps if you get fed up with them or do not use them anymore.

I have not used digi stamps mainly because I do not have the facility to pay for them and often do not have enough ink to print them off if I did LOL

Yeah I prefer to have the stamp in my hand although debbee's comment about resizing the image is a good one also wulfcwen's about swapping them.

I have used one of Debbie's digital images, and I used some free rabbit images on some of my Easter fat pages over on PCJs.

Debbie, did you ever use that boy image to do a range? I thought he was really good.Rubber or digital stamps - what do you prefer? Rock+star

I prefer 'real' stamps too. I suppose the benefit to digi is not having to clean them! Smile

I love the "real thing" but use lots of digi stamps and papers too, I think they all have a place depending on what you want, although real stamps are easier for paper piecing (without waste) and if I had to pick one it would be "real rubber" IFUSWIM lol!

Love the card Carol. I also would say that i prefer the real thing. Get a good sense of satisfaction when you stamp your own. Using your computer is all well and good but the ink is so expensive. Only good thing about digi is the resize facility

Carol Ann

I prefer the real thing I have only very recently used digi images for DT work. If you want an image for something specific and in a hurry the digi image has it's uses if you can find what you want on the web.

ooh i agree with you there carol ann, I've only really started to use digi images because of design teams, but i am in the process of having my own designs made as I do prefer the real thing (plus i just know i'd do it wrong lol)

I've never really used digital - for me it is just a printed image and doesn't feel like stamping at all...the only advantage I see is the ability to re-size. I have only recently got into stamping and really love the real stamps and the way that you can layer them up.
