Challenge 1 - altered domino

Well ladies here is challenge 1 for our brand new forum.

I have altered a domino by covering it with some backing paper, a small printout of a quirky cat. I then covered the whole domino with Anita's 3D gloss - added some rhinestones. To finish I used some complimentry ribbon and a contrasting bling gem stone. The domino has a hole drilled in the top section where the ribbon is threaded through.
This is it hanging from my handbag.


Your challenge ladies is to:-

alter a domino
or if you don't have one then:-
use a piece of mount board or something similar.

That is sweet Debbie, did you make a hole for the ribbon? I'm curious about how it is attached. Now I do have some dominoes but not sure where, when I have made the birthday cards I need and the new home card I might try something.

Hi Cazzy - yes there is a hole in the domino - got my oh to drill it for me..lol the ribbon is just pulled through like you would a tag - quick and easy but effective.

Will go back and edit my first post to keep everything spick and span.

Thank you Debbie, wonder if I could persuade Hubby to drill holes in dominoes?

Super challenge. Something I haven't tried before.

The hole is the thing stopping me! I just know DH will look at me strange if I ask him to get the drill out when I tell him what its for!! men they just don't understand do they?

LOL Gez I know what you mean - but once I persuaded my hubby to do it for me I gave him several to do at once..lol

I'll sit this one out Debbie.... I have a domino set but wouldn't want to spoil the set or even consider doing anything with them as they are made of ebony and ivory and belonged to my Grandfather.

I'll look out for the next one.

oh wow Dee, i've been on the look out for one like that for a long time, very hard to come by xx
If I manage to get a set I'll sort you out with a spare one

Oooh Dee sounds like a really precious set - so best not to drill holes in it..lol

Dee, do you want a domino? I bought a pack just for crafting, haven't used any yet.

I have thrust two dominoes with pencil crosses marking the spot but he won't do it yet! Much too busy doing up our son's first house that he just bought. I am a bit accident prone at the moment, so I don't think I will try it myself!

I thought that I had this posted up - sorry girls..

It is a pic of an altered domino without a hole drilled in it. I used a dab of silicone glue to hole the ribbon in place on the back of the domino.

I hang this on my tree. I used tripple embossing and the last layer is jewelled gold EP - whilst it was still hot I pressed the wee father christmas charm in.

Thought it may help, now i've recvd mine from Cazzy need to get some ideas together to figure out what to do with it! lol

I am still trying to persuade Hubby to drill the holes in my two. I may have to tackle it myself and I am a bit dangerous with power tools!

Thanks for posting up the blog Deanne................ thanks to Carol too, the domino arrived yesterday. I just have to get myself motivated now LOL
