Perhaps you could explain how it would work Deanne, I think from what I have read that someone starts with a blank album and a set theme and sends it out to each person who joins in to decorate, and there is often a rubber stamp that passes round with it and must be used on your page in some inventive way. Then it returns to the person who started it complete with very different pages on the same theme.

Let me know if that is right.

Hi Cazzy your right, we would all set up a mini book of sorts (sizes can be arranged prior) and decorate the front and back pages, put in the number of pages for people to decorate (generally a double page) add some blank tags for each person to put their details on for on the back page and of course pick a theme, I havent heard about the stamp, just the theme I was going to do Smile
We can each set a different theme too Smile it doesnt have to be the same as everyone else Very Happy

Ooh thank you Deanne. I would love to join. Smile

I'm no expert! I'm currently working my way through my 1st one & really enjoying it!! Some of the themes can really take you out of your comfort zone! but I think that can be half the fun. I like the idea of a stamp going round!! I haven't heard of that!

The one I have on the go at the moment is called Precious.....seemed like a good idea at the time.lol What is precious to you? I won't get it back until November so quite away to go yet!

Right i'm back -
Here are the names so far for the jounal, there is only five of us so if you would like to join in you still have time.
Deanne,
Cazz,
Elaine,
Gez,
Cazzy,
Karen,
Here are the details for the circle journal

  • We each pick a theme for our circle journal, it can be anything from 'All about me' to 'Favourite holiday', 'Pet', 'Season', 'ten things about me' etc These are just ideas for you
  • Choose a size for your journal, I'm going to do mine 6 x 6 for example
  • Decorate the front of your album to correspond to your chosen theme
  • On the first double page on one side put your brief instructions on what you want people to create on their pages and on the other side make a pocket and add enough tags so everyone can one each to add a photo and sign Very Happy
  • The next double page is your page to create your theme Very Happy
  • Then have blank double pages enough for everyone to fill in (currently four)
  • Which then leaves the back page which you can decorate to co-ordinate with the front of your book

If you see the list above, the person next in line is the one you post out too and so on...
I think if we say to have the books done and posted out to the first person by the 1st July, is that enough time for everyone to get a book made up! Then it will be the first of the month that we send the journals on, which means with the current amount of us we should get it back in time for Christmas Very Happy
Please make sure all circle journals are wrapped in a waterproof bag and in a jiffy bag when posted out to protect them, also if we send them recorded delivery that would be great and more guaranteed for none to go missing Smile
Hope your all still up for it Very Happy
Any questions just ask x

Thank You for adding my name Deanne.xx

Thinking caps on now!! Could take me till July to decide!lol.

Can I just mention a few extra things to think about! Its a good idea to attach a tag or something to your book or somewhere for ......If found please return to...... & also to put your book in a waterproof packet in case the parcel gets damaged in the post. Its just an extra layer to keep it safe. The one I sent out is in a large Tesco food bag - doesn't have to be fancy! Its also a good idea to send them on Recorded Delivery. Just some extras to think about.xx

Ok I think I have got this.
We all make a small journal to the size we want with 7 pages ( if I join in as well ) plus a page to explain what is wanted in the book. I create the first page with art work on it in my own book. We all add our name and board name on the back of the page we have decorated.
We post the books to each person on the list and we all add our art work to the book in the theme the person who owns the book has chosen.
Is that right?

Hi Paula yes, decorate the front on your chosen theme, when you open the book the first double page are for you to decorate in your chosen theme and have a tag pocket for each person to decorate a tag also, then you will need a blank double page for each person on the circle journal.
You will post the book out to the person under your name (everyone will do the same) so we all have one journal to work on at any time, and we have a month to do it in so everyone posts them out by the 1st of each month Smile
Smile If you want to join in please let me know and I'll add you to the list

Right now I understand what you are doing (after a lovely PM explaining it) I would love to join in depending when we are going to make a start I go for my op August 7th Hmmm second thoughts I may have to wait until next time I don't want to spoil things by being late making the pages. Sorry. Embarassed
hi paula, we are sending out our first books to people on the 1st July Smile so the 1st August would be when we send them on again, so we have a whole month to make our double pages, but i understand, we'll certainly be doing another one at some point Smile there arent that many of us so this one isnt going to take too long Smile x

ours are a little different to the guidelines but i'm kinda guessing that you've all done one before and well we havent so it seemed right to change it a little to make it work - if you know what i mean!
