Shaker Card

My favourite type of card is a shaker card. Not the kind that you have to cut a hole in your card or have a three fold card that you have to fold back...just a simple frame holding your beads or sparkles. You'll always find my Shaker Tutorial at the bottom of my blog! Shaker Card and scroll down!

I've just made my first shaker card (can't post a picture as it's for my Mum's Christmas card and she can see my blog and my Photobucket page - I will post at Christmas though!).
It was so easy to make following your tutorial and looks fabulous with lots of glitter!!
I'm definitely going to make more of these - I'll try and fit one in around the next challenge if I can.
I have one question though - how do you stop the glitter sticking to the acetate? It was like a static charge as soon as I stuck the frame down, and most of the glitter is sticking to the acetate rather than "shaking". Are there any magic tips for this?

You could try rubbing an anti static bag over it first or make your own from talc and a sock, or I just put talc in a zip loc bag with a kitchen cloth and shake it up then use the cloth. I don't know if that will give you a different problem, it might make the acetate look dull.

Can't wait to see it!! And your mum will love her card! I keep a 'bounce' tumble dryer sheet in with my sequins, that stops them leaping on to my hand as soon as I open the box and helps keep them off the acetate too, but I would rub a 'bounce' sheet (or Tesco's own!) over the acetate first, that should help...or..try putting the glitter on a sheet while you make the card, it might help, or there's those anti-static thingies they sell on QVC ! But it is hard keeping very fine glitter off the acetate.
The Talc idea sounds good too!
